Iram has been a student of Hope’s evening support course since 2019. Her family is facing enormous financial problems because both parents are seriously ill. Her father had to undergo extensive surgery and his mother is suffering from a hernia complication. The family’s only income comes from his brother, who works in Mumbai. To make matters worse, Iram’s appendix burst, requiring her to undergo multiple operations. The problem got worse when doctors stopped the treatment midway due to the complete Covid lockdown, leaving her bedridden. It was only when the lockdown ended that she was examined, but doctors found that Iram was too weak for further surgery. The whole matter was discussed in a meeting chaired by the director of Hope and it was decided that Hope would help Iram both financially and medically. Food and medicine were delivered to her home from Hope every day. After two months, she was ready for surgery. Iram was operated on a few days ago and the operation was successful. Now she is rapidly gaining strength and is expected to make a full recovery. All the best, Iram.
