Social workers
Social workers form the interface to the families in the project communities. Since they directly interact with the community, they know the disadvantaged individuals and families well, they can arrange help and meet their requirements, be it through food, clothing or assistance in medical treatments. They also inform parents about the programs of The Hope Project and help to integrate the children into the various education and training programs.
The cooperation between the social workers and the medical staff of the project allows us to refer severely ill patients to government hospitals and negotiate free treatment for them. Also, the direct contact with the families allows the social workers to be able to provide effective advice on sensitive topics such as family planning, protection of their children and domestic violence.
The young people from Youth Forum in the project are actively involved in promoting Hope’s agenda and creating awareness among the people through street play, skits and community meetings.
